Caviar

The word ‘caviar’ is often linked to a highly exclusive and unaffordable product. When speaking of Russian caviar, the eggs of the sturgeon, this is true, as this fish is threatened with extinction and therefore rare to find. However, there are more fish that produce tasty roe, like trout and lump fish. And these are within reach! For those who appreciate an exclusive and festive finishing touch, Zeeland’s Roem offers these alternatives.

Trout caviar

The trout’s roe is a true delicacy. The eggs have an attractive orange colour and a gold-like glow. This is a great product to give many dishes an exclusive look. Also, these middle-sized eggs are extremely crunchy, firm and have a delicate taste. The Latin name for this fish is ‘Oncorhynchus Mykiss’. Higly recommended!

Lump fish caviar

Another alternative offered by Zeeland’s Roem are lump fish eggs. The lump fish’ roe has a different colour and smaller eggs compared to trout. Zeeland’s Roem obtains the colour on a natural base and offers red and black eggs. Because of its salty flavour, this roe is perfect to garnish many dishes. The lump fish lives in the northern part of the Atlantic ocean and is called the Cyclopterus Lumpus in Latin.

Herewith we offer a full range of caviar. The choice of colour may depend on the dish it is combined with. Caviar is also very suitable as a topping on toast with prawns, decoration on stuffed eggs, oysters, white fish or a salad!

Zeeland’s Roem offers Lump fish caviar in a jar of 50 or 100 gram.

Trout caviar is available in a 50 gram jar.
